hey guys,

when i bought my car, it came with immobiliser.

yesterday, the remote wouldnt disarm it and so i thought it may have been flat batteries on the remote. i replaced them but to no avail. i ended up being stuck at the carpark because it wouldnt let me turn on the ignition.

i tried:

-disconnecting the neg battery

-using the key for the alarm horn

i dont know which brand or model the immobiliser is but i saw that it was made in china. any ideas on what i can do to get my car back on the road?

or are there any cheap auto electricians in metro melbourne?

cheers

lol, nevermind. i ended up paying an auto electrician $60 to get it removed.

If you don't know what you're doing, then this is almost ALWAYS the cheapest way :)

When I bought my ST185... It also had an immobiliser installed, I don't remember how I found out what brand they were, but I ended up going to the manufacturer to get a manual for the immobiliser and for them to install my turbo timer. The guy who was working on my car was happy to find out what the override code was. I know I probably still have it somewhere, but I have to find out where I put it!

With the override code, I could disarm the immobiliser without the remote, by using the number of horn beeps as a four-digit override code.
