why stage 1 and not stage 3

Crower Cam Set - Toyota 1ZZ-FE - Stage 1

These are the 1zz cams you've been waiting for. These cams are ground from new cores for excellent quality and durability. They bolt in to the 1ZZ-FE cylinder head with no machining required.

The Stage 1 is a great bolt-in solution for someone looking for a power boost for their daily driver.

Specs are: 264/264 duration, .379/.367" Lift

Crower Cam Set - Toyota 1ZZ-FE - Stage 2

The cams you've all been waiting for. These cams are ground from new cores for excellent quality and durability. They bolt in to the 1ZZ-FE cylinder head with no machining required.

Stage 2 is a street/strip combo with a liveable idle and gains in the mid to high rev range.

This Cam requires upgraded valve springs

Specs are: 272/272 duration, .396/.396" Lift

Crower Cam Set - Toyota 1ZZ-FE - Stage 3

These are the cams you've been waiting for. These cams are ground from new cores for excellent quality and durability. They bolt in to the 1ZZ-FE cylinder head with no machining required.

The Stage 3 is a full race cam for those looking for maximum power. The Apexi Power FC is strongly recommended with stage 3 so that you can increase the rev limiter, tune fuel and VVTi, and get the most out of these cams.

This Cam requires upgraded valve springs

what PM ??

share please ..

I didn't keep a copy of the PM but was along the lines of ensuring the VVT mechanism is unlocked before removing from the stock cam and is re-locked once on the new cam. All clearances need to be checked and adjusted accordingly and if you can't shuffle the shims around to correct it you will need to pay Toyota a visit and wait for the required shims to arrive (unless obviously you have a collection of suitable shims). Don't drop the timing chain. And the timing chain tensioner needs to be removed so it can be reset once everything is done. If doing with the engine in place will require losening of the accessory belt tensioner to remove the chain tensioner as they clash. Releaseing the lock on the chain tensioner is fiddly too. Otherwise pretty much the same as any other cam job.
