Scrubbing won't be a problem at that height.

I've been sitting at a similar height to you for about 2-3 weeks now and have not rubbed once.

Thinking about +30 front and rear. We'll see how that goes.

Anyways, car is looking good. All the right gear. Keep it up!

Thanks Kev, I've had it on for about just over a week. Scrubbed about twice or three times (all times in Melbourne westside = bumpy roads lol, I live in the east). "+30 front and rear", are you referring to the height drop or dampening?? :spiteful:

Looking good pete with the coilies.. thinking of Castrol Edge for my 30k service too.. or Mobil 1

Thanks Johnnie, meet up soon, exams are finished!

Anyway, wheels are back on. Lovin' it! :D

  • 4 weeks later...

well done mate, look great when i saw it! should have taken pics but it was sooo freaken cold!!!

Thanks Duy. Can't wait for the meet on Sunday!

In regards of updates, not much really. Did her 30,000km service recently. Decided to change engine oil from Mobil 1 5W-50 to Castrol Edge 5W-30 since it's winter now. :)

Went to get the wheels aligned since I haven't done it yet after coilovers install, found out it was so bad; front tyres had so much toe..lucky it's good now. Probably going to put the dampeners up to 14 (from softest) all round!

Cleaned the whole interior yesterday and used Armor All Protectant. Haven't had the interior looking so clean in a while! Haha

Outside she's dirty, definitely needs a wash before the meet..maybe at 12am tonight when I've done a bit more work. Haha

Still haven't got around to installing the amber footwell lights.

First post updated!

Peter.

Thanks Kenneth! No real updates..but I'm loving it too! Loved those endless corners and twisties on a recent cruise to the GOR. Bad start to the day but definitely made me go :D :D :D :D :D with each corner!

Here's another photo of my car's lover..at sunrise :whistling:

your ride is definatley the aggressive one in the relationship. :P

car looks great in the flesh Pete and sits very nicely on the road and looks rock solid going around corners. :)

Hahaha no comment! (that's a good girl.. :P) Thanks Lee! Was nice to follow someone fast for once! Definitely gave me a run for my money hehe! :D

Thanks Tash! I still maintain what I originally said to you: if you just want it a bit lower, just get springs or springs/shock combo. If you want it lower and can deal with coilovers, go for coilovers. :)

I'm telling you now, my ride isn't actually that soft lol. :D

Anyway, I put the front dampeners up to 16 clicks from softest on the cruise. Now I'm thinking of putting the rears to 14 and fronts to 18..

Might have something else coming soon! Thanks for looking! :P

Think it will just be springs & shocks when the time comes - the current driveway definitely rules it out so exhaust is probably next on the agenda. It'd be interesting to go for a spin in the 'rolla now it has the coilovers; can't say I've had that many ride experiences with them although I didn't find Anthony's (Stylsh) car that bad in Sydney, and their roads were terrible lol

Looking forward to whatever this next project is though :)

Ahhh forgot about your evil driveway.. although I have not seen your driveway in person, you said last time that there was no possible way to go up on an angle? If not, I guess you have to go springs/shocks combo as it will be cheaper and more suited to Australian roads compared to imported coilovers. My driveway did not even let a stock Corolla or Yaris go up without going on an angle LOL.

Yeah, it's not that bad (for me anyway, I prefer better handling > heaps of comfort). You feel it especially over huge short dips or pot holes in the road or over diagonal railway tracks. But saying that, I can cope with it; some people who love comfort would not be able to.

Heheh well I can't even do springs/shocks with this driveway - as it stands I barely clear it in stock, if you stop towards the peak of the driveway and get out, I have maybe 2-3 cm between the asphalt and my side skirts lol Your driveway sounds just as evil though :(

That's a good point about comfort though, I don't really know what I would prefer honestly

2-3cm? That's heaps of room! ;) Regarding comfort, should jump into Lee's car first, as it would be somewhat similar to your Camry with coilovers. :spiteful:

Hahah if Nathan's Aurion got stuck, and I mean stuck, in the same place there is no way I'm game enough to do it  True that, very good point! Lol, at least your cars are lovers though, they do look good together
