i buy this oil cap from supercheap. it said for toyota. i ask the stuff work there, she said it for Corolla, some how i bought it and put in 05 camry, it perfect. then after then my car for a spin. the oil cap is so dam hot, i mean very hot. it can burn your hand if u touch it. the plastic genuine oil cap not that really hot. so it is safe to use that oil cap? i buy from supercheap auto. it cost only $13 buck.

its just because aluminium (what the new cap is made from) is a much better heat conductor than plastic....

the only issue with those metal caps is, you cant touch them when hot, making it hard to put oil in your engine if its warm, otherwise they are fine.

thanks you, so it safe to use ? i scare too hot, it will melting the plastic cover over the engine.

it should not get any hotter than the engine itself, just keep an eye on it, if you notice the plastic start to deform, switch back to the old one.
