Hey All,

I was thinking about getting some springs first instead to help lower my Sportivo, but I thought whats the point, when I should be replacing the whole suspension instead, kinda don't want to replace crap with more crap so I've been looking at replacing my suspension with TEIN Super Wagons. Just wondering if anyone else has been using them and whether they've had any problems with installation or any performance issues.

Probably another question would be whats everyone else using and what can get me some good bang for buck?

Btw, I'm doing this research while I'm at work hahaha! :P I hope the boss isn't a member..

Look into the price of Koni struts with which ever springs you want, will come in a lot cheaper. I'm not a fan of the Tein, but there are plenty of happy members using them.

Thanks Dave, I might check these out.. I'm steering more towards TEIN though coz I have them on my Honda.. its just that its a bit pricey.. <_<

The super wagons are nothing special. Maybe a little better than super street. The dampers are pretty cheap and simple. Just start with king springs and wen u get more money, put in a set of Bilstein B8 shocks.

If your happy with them then by all means I suppose. I had a set on and didn't like them, ended up with Koni shocks and at the moment some lowered springs....

Springs are springs. As long as the spring weight is right, a spring is a spring. Dampers are MUCH more important. Yes hot wound will sag a VERY little over time. Most springs are hot wound.

People think the more they spend on springs, the better they'll perform. That's generally wrong. Off the shelf replacement springs get a bad wrap because people just chuck em in an otherwise stock car and expect it to handle. As long as u've got good bushes, good alignment, bigger swaybars and good shocks, King Springs are a really good choice. They're cheap and allow U to spend the extra money in better areas.

Ended up going for Cusco Zero 2's instead.. I don't know Tein Super Wagons are pretty much for cars like subaru foresters and what not, not for hatch backs I guess.. I was a little worried the that it might be too stiff..

the zero 2's are much stiffer than the superwagon as the zero 2's spring rate are twice as much as the superwagon with the spring rate of zero 2's are front 7 rear 5 and the super wagon just both front and rear at 3kg/mm

LOL ahhh crap!! <_< I thought it'd be 3kg/mm on the super wagons, but I had a few people tell me that they were meant for wagons and not hatch's.. guess I have to do my own research next time :(

I use teins and they are great, no noise, no problems whatsoever, although my missus complains that the ride is too stiff even with the damping set to the softest but that's on rough Sydney roads.

Thanks for the info Dave, I rekon I'm gonna be happier with the Cusco's though..

I've read up on people that are currently using them or have used them before seems everyones happy with them.. so I don't think I'm slipped up after all, paid a bit more but I guess at the end of the day you get what you've paid for right?
