Hi,

I have a '91 model Camry.

It's seriously overheating within about 3 mins of driving.

I've changed the thermostat and checked that the fan is working.

What else could be causing it to overheat so quickly?

1. sh*t cloging up the water jackets in the motor itself

2. a coolant leak

3. cracked head/warped head/f*cked head gasket

4. some sort of other blockage

5. f*cked radiator

what engine is it?

I can't see coolant leaking form anywhere, so I'm going to assume there's blockage somewhere, either in the radiator or elsewhere.

...only how do I fix/test for that?

2LT engine I believe.

Check your radiator cap. Could be stuffed, not holding pressure anymore and hence leaking.

Or the thermostat has siezed and is stuck in a closed position , not allowing the heated water in the radiator system to circulate.

You better get it fixed before you cook the engine ; if you must drive it , put the heater and the fan on full blast and this will remove some of the heat out of the engine , but its only a very short term solution.

For anyone bumping into this thread late, I haven't seen mention of the fact that a leak won't show properly until the engine is cooled and you carry out a pressure test. Amazing and revealing results. Pressure testers are now inexpensive and save a ton of money and time! Believe you me.
