Hilux collision repair info required

I have purchased a 2005 Hilux Cab chassis which has some damage to the LH front end of the chassis. This vehicle is listed on the repairable write off register here in Victoria so once repaired when must go through a VIV inspection prior to being reregistered. Part of the inspection process is to verify that the vehicle has been repaired in accordance with the Toyota's recommendation. The chassis parts are available from Toyota but I cannot find out anything about how Toyota recommends doing the repair.

Toyota spare are telling me that the body repair manuals are not available

Can any one help?

Toyota should have a collisions repair manual, but as to whether they can let you access this is a completely different story. Usually they don't disclose stuff like this to everyone. Sometimes it helps if you know some of the people at your local dealership really well.

Sorry I can't help you out with this one. Just letting you know that they should be out there. If you were asking about a Camry or Aurion repair manual though, I'd have just the right document for you.

I have been to 3 Dealers and 2 of those had Toyota Aurotorised body shops and they did not have the info. Spares are telling me that the collision repair manual is out of print.

Well contacted Toyota Service assist and they tracked down a Hilux collision repair manual which I ordered at a cost of $300. Probably have the only one in Australia. The manual has lots of dimensions but no information about welding on the chassis. So still none the wiser just $300 poorer.

      2011 Hilux fuel injector seals

      Hi all, I have a question regarding the 2011 Toyota Hilux 3.0l turbo diesel model. A friend of mine who is a mechanic mentioned that they may be known for issues with the fuel injector seals leaking but he couldnt remember whether it was common in the 2009 or the 2011 models. It was apparently an issue that was solved by redesigning the engine, solved by 2012 and possibly 2011 model? Does anybody know anything more about this or had there own experiences with the 2011 engine? Any insight is appreciated as I'm considering buying one, thanks!

      Need more information, what engine are we referring too? Where is the bypass actually at? What hose actually blew off ? The more info you provide actually helps as it helps draw a picture for those who can't actually be there, Cheers Conrod A picture or two would be very beneficial

      Son's First Car--98 Corolla Seca--Overfilled Oil--Cactus??

      Hi folks, Concerned dad of first-time car-owner son. He just bought a 1998 Toyota Seca 1.6L Automatic in Melbourne. Perfect condition. Saw that the oil was so low when warm it did not even touch the dipstick. Filled it to within specs on the stick (took about 1L). Drove 15 mins to home--car performed well. Checked in the morning. Still low. Added another 0.7L (now about 1.7L added total). Test drove for 3 mins. Noticed gear shifting suddenly irregular and slow. Rechecked oil level. It was now 5cm over the limit on the dipstick!! Drained off 1.5L through the pan and no more oil would come out of the pan. Mystified that the oil was still 5cm over the dipstick limit. Took a syringe. Drained off another 0.25L through the dipstick tube, which was about everything that we added in total. Oil level now 1cm over the dipstick limit. Engine still starts and idles fine, but now the car will not go into gear at all. My son is devastated. Please help.

      2019 Landcruiser 200 Map update Bricked System

      Hi guys, our local toyota dealership for the last 12 months have tried at least 4 times to update the navigation maps on our car. I have repeated warned them that they need to be careful which SD Card update they try to use, however, they have ignored my warnings and a month ago, they appear to have completely "bricked" the system. The maps screen is now completely blank and it says to contact toyota dealership for help. The dealership have no idea what to do now and have informed me that a warranty claim has been submitted to completely replace the map display unit. My wife is just a little ****ty right now as she has been without a functioning maps display for about 4 months in total and now this. So, given the unit is going to be replaced at some point, i have decided "what the heck, I may as well try to find an SD Card with a firmware update that can "downgrade" the ******up the dealership have caused". Does anyone know if its possible to "unbrick" this system with an older firmware update (say the original 2019 one)? Any ideas/help would be appreciated. kind regards Adam

      If you haven't sorted the problem out yet, I would recommend looking into whether the intake manifold seals are leaking. These were very common, but it won't explain the ignition coil issue.

      RATTLING CAMRY 2013

      I really hope someone can help me with my annoyingly loud problem… my camry has a loud rattle whenever its in gear, it stops once its in park or neutral. Ive checked the heat shields they are good. If anyone has any suggestions, ill be much appreciated… plus when its warmed up and driven around its harder to start. I’ve attached a video of the rattle, you can hear when i put it into gear it rattles then stops when its in park.       Corolla 3k modified engine + 5 speed box For SALE

      Hi all, I have owned this engine for approx 30 years, it has not run in the last 15 years. needs rebuild, at the least new rings. Was last informed that the Cam was not aligned correctly after the fitting of a new timing chain and head Was originaly a stock 3K 1.2L ke20 for the first 7 years before becoming tired and worn-out. I was so happy with the engine that i spent at least 2 thou on a full rebuild including rebore to 1.3L, very lumpy billit cam, hi comp ported head double springs,fully balanced, lightend flywheel.ect ect Due to budget I could only afford a 32 Webber down draught carby (probably needs new carby kit), stock distributer and a 5 speed manual Would very much like to see it go to a new home so it can come back to life and rev hard again. Please ask any questions you may have.
