Brand new Prado 2022 with intermittent engine/transmission stutter
Hi Tony & Tony? My 2021 Landcruiser Prado Kakadu has the exact same symptoms. The vehicle has only done 2600km from new and only 500km since it was last serviced by Oldmac Toyota at Cleveland. Strangely it has only been noticeable since the last service, which is very coincidental? Further and in regard to the last service I checked under the bonnet looking for a possible loose connection or something not securely fastened. My only finding was that the oil filler cap had been tightened/loosend by force, enough force to damage the top finger turning tab (burred from what appears to be some sort of tool. The oil filler cap was so tight I couldn't budge it using both hands. I eventually got it off by using a rag and shifting spanner and found the seal on the under side of the cap was bone dry. I lubed the seal with a drop of oil and it screwed and unscrewed perfectly. Who are these people servicing your $100k motor vehicle? Have they not been trained? I then checked the tyre pressures because the stutter was very unusual and there may have been a remote correlation. Well to my surprise the tyre pressures were out the window, what the? it had only recently been serviced? Pressures were front left 42psi, front right 39psi, rear left 41psi and rear right 41psi. Toyota's recommended pressures are 29psi both front and rear. What is really happening to my prized $100k vehicle in this service department? These findings raise so may questions. So as you would expect I'm now extremely reluctant to have any of these guys open the door let alone lift the bonnet to start tampering with any sensors and electronics. My gut feeling is possibly a faulty sensor or something fuel related as it appears to be more noticeable when you gently accelerate through a roundabout or corner. Sadly it's not an obvious enough problem to activate any warning lights. Really not sure where to go to from here?- transmission stutter

2GR-FE Idler Pulleys
Just thought I'd ask. Are the Tensioner pulley and Idler pulley the exact same thing ? I see a reference for the idler pulley as being referred to as "Pulley 2" on both hydraulically assisted steer and non assisted. Would the tensioner pulley then be "Pulley 1" ?? I do know that previous models to the 50 series had two idler pulleys and one tensioner pulley. The 50 series did away with the power steering pump so it has one less idler pulley. -

Toyota Allex - Exhaust
Hi all, for the Toyota Allex (2004, 1.8l, 1zz-fe), does anyone know which sport exhaust might fit? Just looking to upgrade that for now, and my budget is under $1000. I’m not looking for anything loud in particular. I’ve seen one on magnaflow for the corolla (2003-2006), but my passenger side is on the left and the muffler is on the right….. would appreciate any input/help. off topic: could you guys please tell me what you think would be the best rims/wheel sizes I should get for my car? -

Toyota Vienta Grande Rego Papers
Thank you Hiro. Much appreciated. It is annoying when Shannons hold off settling the claim because the Vin and Chassis on the system shows up as a Camry when insured as a Vienta Grande, until they investigate it further. I had that car for 22 years and loved it more than I love my Lexus IS250C. -

Toyota Vienta Grande Rego Papers
Thank you very much Tony. The reason I asked is because we had an accident and the car was deemed a total loss. Shannon’s the insurance company now have to investigate why it was listed as Camry elsewhere when we insured it as a Vienta Grande before they settle the claim. Hopefully they will also come to the same conclusion as what you have said. Thanks again. Much appreciated. It was a very loved car. I had it serviced regularly and used Royal purple for the oil and only 98 premium fuel. It had done 477K kms and was still mechanically 100%. Very sad to see it gone. -

Toyota Vienta Grande Rego Papers
Rego papers don't usually go in to detail about model/trim etc (plus sometimes they can be a bit wrong). As long as the VIN/engine number, number-plate and relevant details for road tax/insurance purposes (mass, number of doors, type of vehicle etc) are correct, that's all that really matters. And technically a Vienta is still a Camry anyway, it was just the badge put on the top-spec V6 models (the XV10s were badged as Camry Vientas too) - just like how a Calais is still a Commodore but it doesn't wear the badge.- 1

Toyota Vienta Grande Rego Papers
I don't have a Vienta Grande but I can say that the RTA (Service NSW) don't recognise what trim level your car is. If your car is a Camry of a certain model architecture, then it will only be listed as such. So don't be alarmed if you see it the way you do. That is the correct information and standard operation. Examples. I have an Aurion 50 series Prodigy and a BMW M3 Coupe. The Aurion is listed as "2012 Toy Aurion Sedan" The M3 is listed as "1999 B.m.w. 3 Series - E36 Sedan"- 1
