aurion ecu?

Recommended Posts

I had other plans, not really NA tuning as such, wanting to control fuel and IGN for a low boost setup <6psi

What Jason (CHA54) mentioned at the top of this page is pretty spot on. In addition to that, I have heard Adaptronic is another working option. There hasn't been much progress on all of this though when used for the Aurion and whatnot simply because the interest does not exceed people's dedication.

The guys transplanting the 2GR-FE into their MR2's would be the guys to look at. You will have to search around for them outside of here though.

Edit: Pretty much what Trent said above too.

Hi Chris,

We have fitted and tuned a MoTec M800 ecu to a 2005 Hilux which has a similar

configuration as far as ECU is concerned. We actually made it full standalone

with a DBW control, variable cam control, the price was roughly $6000 supply fit and

tune.

What do you have done to your Aurion?

If this is what you are after let me know.

This is an email i got after chasing ECU's this mob is in sydney. i have contact details if anyone is interested :) The ecu alone is about $3500

. So who would u have to get to tune this ecu?

I heard someone from hi tech dyno in Adelaide SA fitted a Motec in a moded ATX Aurion. I saw photos of just the Aurions wiring and the new Motec wiring harnesses, look like a monstrous chaotic cabling job! And every prior to them installing, just because my friend built there web site and sent me them pics out of pure interest. unfortunately the pics are probably long gone.

Also, can anyone possibly post a picture of their ECU?    So it has the part number and other information on the metal plate.    I'm working with a tuner who is asking me if I have that information.   Thanks in advance.

I'm not sure if this is new news or not but it didn't come up when I searched the forums.

But apparently Dimsport - can reflash your stock toyota ecu. I have been trying to communicate with the italians but I am not having much luck.

I am curious if there are any Dimsport dyno tech's in Australia that could be more help?

There is only one Dimsport tech in NZ and they only specialist in diesel 4WD and Tractors.

Thanks for posting the above information TRDnz13.    The tuner I'm working with stated it is reflash-able.   So...I just need to get my hands on a used TRD ECU.     Long story but.....It's more to it then what I'm stating here but I am looking to get some information off of the TRD ECU to implement on my RAV4's ECU.     It will be being supercharged.

So anyone that has or has access to a used TRD ECU, I am very interested.  Thanks in advance.

BTW:  The tuner that I have been working with is called 'R9K Tuning' from Puerto Rico.   I am in the U.S.

It will be cheaper and more beneficial to use a stand alone ECU. You can "piggyback" a stand alone with your factory ECU to retain body control CAN communication.

A TRD ECU will be hard to find and likely fetch a very high premium as there were so few made.

Has anyone here considered trying R9K Tuned out?    I've had some good success with him so far.   I actually have an ECU tuned for a supercharger that I am having installed.  We will be going back and forth until everything is tweaked but I'm sure it'll be definitely better than stock.

Just curious if anyone has considered or are going this route as well.   Pretty quiet here.

I think you are failing to understand that there were probably less than 700 of these vehicles ever made and far fewer have joined forums.

There would be a fair amount blown up and written off. Many owners would also be happy with the power as it was delivered/would not have the funds to conduct any form of ECU modifications.

Maybe I should've been more specific in my previous post.   Was asking if any Aurion owners, that are looking to modifying their car for more power, have looked into possibly working with R9K.   I am not asking those with TRD Aurions or those that are already happy with the power as it was delivered or those without funds to do any modifications.   Hope that helps!

I think you are really looking at the wrong vehicle if you want to get a substantial power increase at of of stock Aurion's It is not in my opinion a suitable vehicle to do this too, when there are numerous others imports Skyline ,Soarer, Silvia, even some local stuff XR6 etc. which are the ducks guts for this type of mods.

Substantial power increase in a std 3.5L = bang! in my book

Transmission= similar

Chassis=could not see it handling great some guys have put large dia sway bars on the rear only to have mountings pull off the body

Mate it is basically a family car

I have only seen 1 person here actually obtain any worthwhile power gains and he is no longer an active member(it may have blown up). He ran a turbo with an aftermarket ECU.

I think you are barking up the wrong tree.

Contact Adaptronic and enquire about purchasing one of their ECUs. They have had experience with the 2GR engine in Steve Pembreys AE86 drift car.

Oh...guys I'm cool on my side.  I've already had my ECU tuned twice (N/A) and I have my first beta supercharged tune for my car once it has been supercharged now.  It may take a bit to get it right though.    A friend of mine had his N/A Toyota Avalon's ECU done and he is happy with his result after seeing mine.   And a few other's are following along.

I've had good results with just an intake and exhaust on my RAV4.  We share the engine (2GR-FE).   Just was putting this out there as an option for those that may be interested.  Not those that aren't.    No barking here.  Just passing information along.   I've offered my opinions on intakes as well as exhausts on here as well.

Barking up the wrong tree = looking in the wrong place.

BTW  Trentmeyer23, have you had a chance to run your turbo camry at the track for 1/4 mile?   How does it run?   Just curious!

Yes. Not for a few years and not on my current setup(bigger turbo, etc). It runs just fine. This topic is not the right place for that discussion though.

hey been a few years, Any one got any updates? ECU been cracked yet? or I'm guessing more likely the scent went cold and everyone stopped trying so to speak.

I think mg85 summed it up well.
