Birthday present from exe crew car mates, thanks guys!

th_DSC03232.jpg

estimated install time: 1 minute

actual install time: 20 minutes

After removing the stock filter, i replaced it with the K&N filter. I didn't fit snug but i made it fit buy accidentally snapping a bit of the air box lol..

Performance wise, it feels a lot more responsive and has a deeper note and at LIFT it sounds like i've got a CAI!

Update on bracing, just missing a few bits and pieces of the chassis bracing, once i've got them all, ill be taking pics and installing it.

Rear strut installed after 2 hours of messing around. First time i attempted this i couldn't figure old how to remove the bits and pieces until i stumbled accross super dave's post on how to install the rear strut brace, that help me heaps, thanks mate!

The gold pieces are the C ONE chassis bracing for the rear of the car.

The 2 little gold pieces are the C ONE bracing that goes near the rad support

So what happens when you get someones number plate bolt jammed into ur front bumper? a nice present..

th_DSC03242.jpg

How do you fix it? theres a few options:

cut and polish: scratch is too deep

buy paint and diy: too expensive and not enough time

respray at panel beaters: whats the bet that it will happen again?

theres probly more but you get the point by now..

so whats the option i took?

Winton has lots of left turns....better get that fixed!

Could it be because of the plastic tray guard?

its a custom 2.5" with stock tip, it sounds a little louder than the stock system, but i can feel slight mid range gain. Vid will come up soon.. JUST got back from a 6 hour operation at chasers *_*.. they swapped over front sway bars from my mates car to mine, no easy task and was glad to just watch them! They had trouble sorting out some knocking sounds from the front right of my car, and the sway bar link was knocking on something too =S.. but its all good now!

Time for an update:

Had some time to think bout whether i wanted to keep or sell the C-one bracing, ended up keeping it and installing it hehe.. The car now handles like a dream! the small tinkering sounds have ALL gone away!! BUT... i can hear the rear end making some sounds turning at low speed cause its so stiff now.. In summary, the car now handles somewhere between having coilovers and having upgraded springs and shocks.

Stayed tuned, i've put a deposit of some coil overs.. Hopefully i get them in time for the November 21st track day. There may be a possibility of changing to coilovers during midday =].. will upload some pics soon
