Hey "jap", good to see there are some ppl out there with Hiluxs on this. How do you find the new ones compared to the old hiluxs??

I've only had two, a 2004 SR5 turbo dual cab and this one.

The latest ones are light years ahead of the 'older' ones in terms of handling, comfort and styling.

Offroad ability? not sure.

My current hilux doesnt see too much dirt ;)

I own three toyotas 2005 Corolla, 2007 Camry and 2007 Workmate. I have owned Fords (still like the Ford product), Holdens and Hyundais, I decided to try The Toyota product due to its reliability reputation and so far I have found the vehicles to be basic, sound and sturdy in many aspects. They are comfortable and stylish although you dont get many features for your $.

Buts its the reliability I was after.

I like my Hilux 4 X 2 because it has that old school appeal, any extra features I add after market or second hand. so far I have added fog lights and remote central locking and soon to add power windows as a rainy day project. I find the 2.7 VVTI powerful enough for me ( daily ride, I don't carry big loads) and is economical for my style of driving. I get 600-650 km to tank,(mostly city) 10.5 ltre \100 and I only pay 4cyl rego (state tax ptooey). The ride height is high enough not to be in the shadows of other vehicles at intersections, for me its an all round vehicle and great value for money. cheers
