Hi, the right indicator has started blinking quickly on my 1988 Camry. The car is otherwise in very good condition for its age. The bulbs have been checked; could it be the flasher relay needs replacing on that one side (assuming there is one for each side)?

Cheers.

Normally if a bulb has blown it causes the indicator to blink quickly, no matter what car. Try turning hazard switch on and check each indicator bulb including front side fenders (if applicable) to see if All indicator lights are working.

All the indicator lamps seem to be working -- front, back, side. Possibly flasher unit is faulty; would that affect only one side though?

What about the parking lights; if one of those was faulty (dim, on its way out), could that cause problems on one side?

Cars are not my forte, I'm afraid.

EDIT: I might also add that if the hazard lights are activated, both indicators flash correctly.
