Was hoping for some advice from forum members.

I have an 09 KLUGER KX-R

My wife drives the car mainly to taxi two small kids around. This involves lots of shopping centre car parks and the like.

Im wondering if Side Steps in addition to their use in helping kids get in the car could also stop other cards from opening their doors on my car and damaging my paint work :spiteful: ?

If this is an added benefit of the steps Im definitely sold on them, but since Im on a budget I'd need to go for an OEM version.

So here are my questions:

* Will side steps prevent cars parked close to mine from accidentally scratching my paintwork

* Can those in the know point me to some good quality OEM steps

* Any idea what they will cost to fit and who I might approach to have them fitted? (Melbourne)

Much appreciated !!

They are not going to stop your car from getting scratched by other cars. But they are great for the kids to get in and out of the car. In my opinion the Kluger looks better with sidesteps than without.

agree, they wont stop cars banging your metal as they dont stick out much, i cant even use them to wash the roof without a chair. The steps are fantastic for our kids to get in and out, and just recently on a holiday, it saved us when i reversed over some grass next to my brothers driveway, not seeing a stump and it took the hit rather than the car....dented it but as i have AWD, was able to pull myself off.

Get the bushranger bladerunner side steps. Way better than OEM.

I think they cost about $600 iirc + about $150 to install.

Color happens to match my Silver Kluger very nicely.

Hi Colonel,

I will be picking up my Kluger KX-R tomorrow, and have the same concern of getting the car damaged in parking spaces. Would you be able to send me few images of the wide side steps that you have installed if possible, to get an idea how it would look like?

Thanks a lot in advance.

Cheers!

It would delighted if you can show me picture of your kluger with the sidestep, because I am thinking to install it..thanks

Has anyone purchased a pair (not original Toyota steps) that they are very happy with?

Could you possibly advise where they were purchased and approximate price?
