air con switch light flashing

ok heres the problem

the aircon switch light on the dash

flashes every so often when driving normally

the air con is working well and is cold

any clues ?

Is is a rhythmical flash, or is it more of a flicker?

ie does it flash at a consistent rate for a period of time, or does it turn on an off randomly?

Could be a faulty globe. One of my dash lights flickered a bit before it eventually died.

the light flashes at a consistent rate for a period of time,

if you turn off the air con button

then push the air con switch back on the light stays on constant

a short time a minute later the light starts flashing again

with persistance several pushes on and off makes the light stop flashing

Check the magnetic clutch relay, common problem in 36 series Camry and 120 series Prado...

right.. got the full repair manual

will check that relay is working
