how do i enable sat nav and blue tooth while driving

i know it a safety issue so that's why it cant be done while driving, but ive never really thought about it till now. From memory there is a purple wire that runs from the back of the stereo (i assume it's for the bluetooth) into the back of the instrument cluster (maybe to the speedo wire)

my question is has anyone tried cutting the wire so all the features of the sat nav are enabled while driving ? can i just ground it out to the chassis, i dont want to pull the dash out and mess around with it if i dont have to. Although the wire is there on hilux's, prado's and 200 series i've never taken much notice if it's there on the klugers but i imagine there all the same

and info would be great
