Rattle noise from Tailgate
Well, you could quite easily try my method first before ditching it all together. It's a functioning piece with some aesthetic. Note the grab area to place your hands to help you pull the tail gate down. If it doesn't bother you how it looks or functions, then by all means remove it. Put it in a safe place incase you sell the vehicle. The prospective buyer would probably be turned off if it's missing. -

This thread is worth a reading and consideration of what needs to be removed either as a minimalist approach or the most beneficial. Recent post by ZZT86 is a great example of an unexpected bonus to reveal an improperly installed gasket during manufacturer assembly. -

Hi Tony. I'm happy to wait. Aurion has just ticked over 172,500 and plugs aren't due until 180,000 so plenty of time. -

I'll be doing my plugs at some stage in the near future. You can count on a detailed DIY from me, if you're happy to wait. -

Rattle noise from Tailgate
I feel your pain. I've had issues like that in the past and it drives me mental. I doubt you'll ever get it to sit flush and have zero clearance without gluing it on, which is impractical, but My solution would be to buy a roll of double sided tape, say 20 or 30mm wide and 1mm thick and cut out strips and stick the pieces either to the back of the plastic panel or to the metal tailgate. Leave the other side unpeeled and this will act as an insulator and stop the loose plastic interference slapping the metal. Also, while you have it off, check for any wiring loom in there that could also be a source of rubbing or slapping the inners. Apply the pieces to the majority area of the flat section. That's where you noise will be the greatest. Hope that helps. Let us know how you go. -

Rear Tail lights - LED or normal bulbs
I'd hazard a guess and say yes. Depending on model I suspect. You may have to just dig into it anyway and learn more about it for your own knowledge. I saw a tail light for that model for sale on ebay and it looks to have a four pin plug. It could well be a connector for an LED array as it didn't appear to be a bulb socket either. Do you have the factory owners manual ? That could shed some light on it. -

Converting my corolla into a Sportivo
My immediate thoughts were, "good luck finding original Sportivo parts". It seems you've done well to find the hard to get bits, especially the front lip. I'm assuming it's original. You didn't mention anything yet. Nice little project. Car looks great mate !
