I've just become the owner of a 2004 Avalon GXI, bought because I want to tow a light caravan. The bonus was it came with a factory fitted towbar and oil cooler! I had a 1978 Corolla for 4 years and then an SV21 Camry wagon for 17 years and 362,000km and still running like a dream except the body was starting to give up with leaks and rust. I loved that car, hope I get to love the Avalon as much, it feels a bit strange but guess I will get used to it. Looking forward to others opinions on this site.

Welcome to the club mate :) After having driven an Avalon for a while I can only advise of one major problem I have found......Once you've driven it, you'll never want to sell it :D Very comfortable ride.
