Gents (and ladies),

Anyone free to do a recon run this Sunday? :P

P.s. We always use UHF radios to communicate with each other on the cruises. Recommend everyone to buy one; make everything run smoother and less hassle. :)

i would offer, but your spine would be shattered after 30minutes :P

How come? I'm sure Reece would be alright... :P

my coilovers are too stiff :(

Hey Pete.., do you know where to get a radio for cheap?

Jeff, I would recommend buying a UHF that is at least 1W. Any weaker and it's not that good/clear, especially around mountain bends etc. Right now I got one that's $70 but I'm thinking of buying a stronger one since I use it more often. :)

Never too stiff mate! :P

Sorry dwee, i have exams monday and tuesday. so this weekend is out for me

Probably mid to late november for the real cruise

Yeah fair enough mate. Education first, come for the cruise; it's been a while!

be aware that the recon will take a full day... it took us a full day last year when we went

Yep, that's a good point Duy. If you are not able to spend a full day, you might want to re-consider doing a recon run.

No one is free this Sunday? :P

Date wise I'll throw up a few suggestions for the real thing - how about either Sunday the 13th November or Sunday the 20th November?

I Guess 20th November would be the ideal date then,? Save the dates ?

- sounds like a reasonable/feasible enough date, with planning and all that, and near summertime too, weather would be great'

Continuing on with the list:

1) Jeffy => edit: ( nay for the recon run for now [unless otherwise i change my mind :whistling: )

2) Tash (am too far away for recon runs for this sorry)

3) fillit (maybe recon run )

4) iVaz (actually in this time)

5) maca_10 aka Chris - should be up for recon if on Sunday + probably S15 & WRX

Will try to keep the 20th free.

Might be able to help with the recon run, will be able to confirm availability closer to the date. I think the recon should be done on the sunday, so we get an idea of traffic and parking, etc.

EDIT: Where can I find a decent UHF radio for a reasonable price?

Just give ya guys an idea, i been to the GOR cruisebefore and here is the run down:

Meet at Mobile Servo / McDonalds on Western Ring road (near Boundary Rd. exit), going towards City, NOT towards Airport. Melways Map 40 B5 around 10am.

Stop at BP station in LittleRiver for break / fuel.

Go to Apollo bay via Anglesea.

Have break / lunch at Apollo bay then go home via the Forrest inland.

The route through the forrest inland is a very nice drive and less traffic!

There is a pub / hotel at Apollo Bay, so can always have lunch there.

If people wants, you guys can always have a short break at Lorne.

Cool, yeah where can I get a radio? I was looking for some, but I think I'm looking in the wrong department, went looking at the Taxi CB Radio's & I can't actually afford in excess of $700 bucks --"

So where is a good place to get them radios from?
