Bought in 07 straight off the showroom floor with 5km on the clock. Since then it now has 29800km

Has been rear ended twice, with both times just needing the rear bar replaced.

ATM it is bog stock standard, however that will soon change.

I have been very happy with this car, even though the wife is the main driver as I bought it for her, it has served us well.

As the car is in need of new tyres, the wife has decided that we may as well get rims, so to that end, these are whats going on the car next week;

Enkei SC24

Got them for an awesome price in a package deal.

Down the track will be a new HU and speakers, just to give it some more sound appeal inside the cabin.

I'll post pics once the new rims are on, but for now, we all know what a stock Yaris looks like lol

Nice choice, what colour Yaris and what size you getting,16"s ? I need to picture it, I hate surprises...

Looking forward to your pics :)

16x7 with 205 Maxxis or Conti tyres, depending on the what price the shop can do the Conti's for.

And the car is Metallic Silver, unsure of the correct name.

Filled her up today and decided to check what economy she was getting.

The car does 95% city/urban driving with the odd country run, once every 6 mths or so lol

From last I filled till now, it took 30ltrs and covered 381.4km so the average recorded is 7.8L/100km or 12.7km per litre used.

Not to bad for a weezy 1.3 and 4sp slushy.

This is the site I use for my calcs.

Nice choice in wheels, and 16x7 is a good size (same as I have), I think they will look great.

Not bad economy either from a 1.3 auto.

Well, the Bug, as I call the Yaris, goes in tomorrow for it's new shoes.

It was the wife who mentioned that, if we're getting new tyres, may as well get mags for it!

For $1390 fitted, balanced, aligned and locknuts, it was an offer to good to refuse!

As for my other car, it too will be due new tyres also, however I'm thinking of getting new rims also, change my existing set and may even downsize to 18" from 19"

These are the one's I've been eyeing off;

Enkei GTC01's

I like those too,I agree with the downsizing...

Plenty of well priced Enkei's at the moment I've noticed

New rims are on, and what a difference it's made to it's plain stock appearance.

So,

Maybe later down the track I might convince the missus to drop it 1 1/2" on the front and 2 on the rear, to even the gap abit between the arches.

If she's happy then we're happy... Wait a while and she might suggest lowering herself seeing she has the bug now, that way you can't get in trouble for anything..

Looks good

She has already mentioned dropping it a bit! :D

Just gotta wait for her say so.

First thing she said when she saw it was, "there's something missing, maybe needs to be lower" I kept my cool and said "yeah, just a bit, as it's still the rounabout taxi"

Hopefully another win for me.

Missus is very happy with the new found grip and steering the rims have given the Bug. She commented that she doesn't turn need to turn the wheel as much now for the same turn and is more sensitive than the old wheels.

So, over time, future plans are;

Drop in ride height

Rear lip spoiler

Simple yet much improved audio upgrade

Don't want to go overboard as it's still the family city runabout. :)

Just drop it down on some tanabe's or something.. Coilovers make the ride quite hard.

Coilovers are planned for my other car.

Thinking of getting King Lows, just need to find out the drop in height it gives.

I'm after visual looks rather than all out handling.

Seems I can also add a Body Enhancement Kit to the list of things to do.

Priced a kit up, with rear lip spoiler, $1015, painted ready for fitment.

Also priced some King Lows, $210 for full set. Both prices are pretty good I think.

Now, it's saving time!!

Gave the Bug a detail today, started out with just a basic wash, ended all out lol.

Took some pics, minus the bub seat and seat covers(covers I hate, but this is what the missus drives)

Also she tends to use the car as her personal rubish dump, with the kids making it worse lol

Not much else getting done, just saving for a set of King springs to bring it closer to terra firma.

There are few small cars that match the Toyota Yaris’s price. Five-door hatchback yaris is a good value for the price!

Posted

What got us to sign the paperwork was that the car was a double order, as in the car was ordered twice for the same customer, so they gave us 5k off the RRP, we had it paid off within the year.

It hasn't faulted once and looks set to stay in the family for years to come(wife plans on handing the car down to the daughter when she's old enough, 9 yrs to go!! lol)

Well, bit of an update,

Car got a Major Service today, and ordered a rear wing for a Yaris RS

$136 incl post from the US. I do believe they are not available from Toyota Aus as we never got the RS model.

And next fortnight I will be ordering the Body Enhancement Kit.

Wing arrived the other day, has been booked in to get sprayed next month when I get back from overseas.

Missus is eager to get it fitted, haha

She wants to see how it looks before getting the YRX kit.

All in good time

Tossing up either Dobinsons springs or TEIN Street Coilovers

Posted

I have the teins. They are nice, but the ride is harsh
