From a wrecker, I picked up a cheap towbar today for a '99 camry wagon. But when I got there, I found they'd just lopped off the harness wires, so now I have to wire it in from scratch. I just want to pull a utility trailer, nothing more. I can't find any t-connector kits. I do have a Haynes manual with a wiring diagram. But I'm reluctant to splice in without any further guidance. Can anybody offer any advice or resources?

on the 99 sedan there is a plug under the cover inside the boot, i think the wagon would be similar and a harness kit is sold by toyota.

If don't want to purchase the kit you could use a test light (LED style) to locate each wire.
