Sportivo Instument Cluster Swap

Hi

I have recently bought a 2005 Sportivo Clsuter with the silver finish and gear selector indicators to put into a same year camry Altise.

Being a direct swap I did get the important functions working.

However I cannot get the gear selector to show up. There is no lights from the indicators and I have had a check to see if any of the LEDs in the position indicator map out to the pins at the back of the cluster.

Could anyone here shed some light on this or have experience in doing such a swap?

I have looked all over the net and also on these forums for some more info but there really isn't a lot around!

Thanks for the help and I appreciate it! It would also help a lot if I hade a schematic diagram of some sorts for the electricals of a 2005 camry or at least a pin out diagram of the cluster etc which I found was also a challenge to locate!

Have you checked the solenoid? Could be playing up. Other than that, sorry I cannot think of anything else.

Since the Altise doesn't have the selector lights in the dash, are you sure the Altise has all the necessary wiring and a sensor/s on the gear selector? I don't know, but I would have thought some of the wiring may have been there, but without the sensor etc, or it may have to come through the body control module/junction box, in which case its possibly not worth the hassle, unless your good with that type of thing.

Thanks for the replies. I had almost given up for an answer! Yes the required loom for this function to work may not be existant in the Altise at all was one thing that did cross my mind! However I guess I might have wrongly assumed that Toyota would have made one typical loom to match across the models and match plugs, etc to enable functions/gadgets existing on some models and not others.

In other words I thought the connections were available, just that it wasn't brought out. If someone could provide me, or even a working link to, an electrical diagram for a 36 series camry I would greatly appreciate it! Not only for the purpose of this but it will certainly come in handy in the future.

Which brings me to another good point...can map lights and the sunglasses holder from more "blinged up" models be added to an Altise? I could bring out wires from the interior dome light to make it work but is it physically possible to place the holder?
