Hi guys,

recently I purchased a new key and remote for my 05 camry altise from toyota. I researched the programming steps before i purchased them but it seems that the american cars have a different programming procedure. I haven't been able to find any Australian programming instructions. Does anybody have access to the Australia workshop manual for an 05 camry or know of the procedure to program the transponder key and remote.

Regards,

Toby

for the remote, turn the key, into the igniton from off to on three times, (so its a cycle) till "pro" word comes on, above the radio, then press the remote button

Hi,

This works beautifully, but as soon as I get other remote programmed, my first remote stops working. How can I get both the remotes programmed. Need your help.

same way,

just press the two remotes consecutively

It should be this..

Sit in drivers seat, all doors closed and key out of ignition. Wait 50 seconds before doing anything.

Insert already coded master key into ignition

depress and release accelerator peddle 5 times

depress and release break peddle 6 times

Remove master key

Insert key to be programmed

depress and release accelerator peddle ( security light should start flashing)

After 60 seconds the security light will go out

If you want to code another key insert in ignition and wait 60 seconds again

When finished remove key and press break peddle once.

job done.

So as you don't need to turn the key in the ignition for this one you can code it without having to have the key cut yet.

Security light I think is under the stereo.

Awesome.

Can I send you some money. You saved me 40 bucks.

Hey mate, just came across this post.

By getting the key "cut to code", do you getting the key cut from Toyota dealership itself? OR, is it something that other locksmiths can do as well?

I am considering getting a spare key for my 2005 Camry Altise from Toyota, and code it myself using the instructions you provided above. My current original key has no issues.

Cheers!

The dealers key will be blank.

and yes, you gotta go to a locksmith to get a key copy

What Jeffy said :)

If you got the dealer to get it cut they would be getting a Locksmith to do it.

The shoe repairer in the mall would only cut a copy of your key.

What key do you have, is it a remote key or have a black head? The Valet ( Gray) key doesn't work for adding/ deleting new keys.

Another way to check is sit in your car and look for the security light. insert your key, if it goes out straight away its a master, if stays lit for a second it's a valet.

I've got a master, black-headed key.

Sorry I wasn't clear - what I wanted to know was: is it the same thing if I got a Toyota dealer to cut the key vs any other locksmith?
