GVM UPGRADE FOR LC300 SERIES GR-SPORT
I have a GR-S with a JMACX 4200 GVM - the key component to answer your question is the electronic version of the alpha dampers. its a bit of a double edged sword - the drive mode wheel now only controls throttle response and transmission/streering gremlins, as the Toyota dampers are gone, however the replacement supersedes function quite nicely. You get a cute little panel that can operate the shocks in different ways. You can set your baseline firmness for each shock, and either lock this in ORRRR turn it to adaptive mode and feel the outside dampers firm up around corners, front ones firm whilst braking etc. It presumably uses a 2-axis accelerometer to tell which corner to do what. You can even get to display the data it’s utilising to make the realtime changes. so… this seems to work like the Toyota system - in my opinion, it feels less ponderous than the factory suspension, but the relatively inconsequential issue of the drive mode not controlling the shocks can trigger the OCD amongst us. I’ve only had OME suspension prior to JMACX - I must say I’m overwhelmed with how much engineering has gone into the system. Driving the vehicle around, it feels like it’s dominating the road, rather than timidly subbing. Coming from a 200 that felt like As mine is black with an ARB bar and BFG 35’s, it’s also somewhat intimidating - which has its advantages at the school drop off - and its disadvantages as I’m pretty sure most drivers just think I’m another obnoxious black monster truck driver with a loud snorkel and exhaust. im actually not that obnoxious. have I even answered your question? I know of no system that fully integrates that knob. oliver - very tired IMG_4387.dng IMG_4391.dng -

Opinions please: Questionable replacement 2GR-FE 3.5l V6.
Hi All, If there are any people out there experienced with the replacement of Toyota V6 engines, specifically the 2GR-FE, I'd appreciate your comments on the suitability of the following engine. The supplier cited it as remarkably clean but it has clearly been exposed to water,. The supplier cites a three month warranty and talked about the cleaning process: They cleaned it with water and, judging by the pictures supplied by our mechanic, clearly forgot to drain it afterwards. See the pictures for more on that. The oil isn't oil anymore, but that's to be expected when you clean an engine out with water. As to why they did not clean it with a spirit based solvent that is safe for the non metallic components of the engine I don't know, but then, I really don't know much at all about how one would clean an engine -- and why you would want to do so if it was as good as they say. There is sludge all inside the main seal, but I would like to clarify if this is just grease and is maybe typical of a motor that has done 100,000kms. The cam is slightly pitted from rust, the timing belts on one side have surface rust, though it is unlikely to have penetrated deeply into the moving surfaces of the chain links and can probably be effectively cleaned with a stiff nylon brush. As usual, a picture is worth a thousand words so please see below and know that all help is appreciated. -

Imported Toyota Prius hybrid - Plug in 2017
Hi everyone, I’m hoping someone in this group can assist me. I own an imported 2017 Toyota Prius plug in hybrid, and unfortunately, the official Toyota dealers in Melbourne have refused to service my car due to its import status. I’m now looking for an independent service provider or mechanic who has experience working with imported Toyota hybrids, specifically hybrid systems, electrical diagnostics, and general repairs. If anyone has had a similar experience or can recommend a reliable specialist or workshop in Melbourne that can service hybrid imports, I would really appreciate it! Thank you in advance for any suggestions or help! -

Yaris Cross Space Saver
Hi Ian, I am in the same situation, having signed up to purchase a Yaris Cross GX AWD. It comes with a repair kit only, but my contract is subject to a space saver tire being fitted. Can I ask if this has worked out for you? Toyota are saying that there is an issue with securing the tire under the boot floor. Thanks in advance for your assistance. -
