Parking sensors, speaker/beeper, ECU

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

I have a few questions about the Parking Assist Sensors circuit:

1. Where is the speaker/beeper located?

2. If the speaker/beeper is disconnected or dead, should I get any ECU indication?

3. If the sensor circuit is physically broken (broken or disconnected wire), should I get any ECU indication ?

Edit:

No.1 is the one, I'm most interested in.

I suspect, it's in the ceiling, front centre map lights combination.

Can someone check and confirm this?

My circuit stopped working, so I can't check for the beep.

Thanks for help

Would this still be under warranty? I would take it to Toyota if it is and get them to check it out.

Yes, no worries about the warranty. It will be fixed.

However I'd like to know, whether the beeper for the parking sensor is located in the roof lining.

If anyone who has parking sensors installed, would like to help, they could do so by :

- switch on ignition, may have to engage gear (forward or reverse),

- send a person to move past a sensor (front or back),

One person in the car seat might want to hold a funnel (rolled magazine or paper) to their ear, pointing at the front centre map light unit (in the roof lining). There are a few slots, which look like a speaker cover.

I'd really like to know, if that's the location of the beeper or not.

I will follow up with an explanation, when it's fixed.

Thanks, guys/gals.
