The new US Civic gets a thumbs up from me. It has some similar styling ques from the current corolla sedan especially from the rear quater view. I wonder what the next generation corolla will look like?

it's actually quite nice... i like it, especially the coupe model. the sedan sure looks like a half corolla :P

it doesn't look cheap though... would anyone buy a civic more than 30k? besides a type R :D

I can't but feel that Civics are not suppose to be "family" style cars. That's what the Accord was made for. I reckon that Civics need to have more guts and be a little more sporty. Less sporty than the Integra but more sporty than the Accord.

All these new sedan, family-type Civics just don't cut it.

Well this really is just evolution, I read an article years ago which said the car companies try to grow the car with the people. For example:

Corolla use to be a small car

Now its bigger but the Starlet / Echo was introduced to fill the gap that was left.

Same with the Astra, The Civic and many others.

The areticle was making a point that the manufacturers are going with the theory that a person can be brand loyal for their entire life ie the car type grows up with them.

Its a pretty good theory and with things like this Civic you can really see how its working.

the new SI basically is a type R by US standards. they're discontinuing the Integra/Acura RSX due to lack of sales, and the New CIvic is up to 197hp (SAE rated)
