Hi guys,

Just wondering if anyone has got or used a solar battery charger in their corolla? I've got a zze122 and was planning to use that for a very long road trip because I have a feeling my battery isn't fully charged. Some say that it won't work for Japanese cars

"In most GM/Ford/Mopar products, this will work, because the lighter outlet is switched on (and thus can back-feed to the battery) outside of key position. However, in most Japanese (not sure about European) makes, the lighter is switched so that it only has a path to the battery when the key is switched on. The resultant load would quickly overwhelm the charger and result in a dead battery. "

is this true?

Any info would help. Thanks guys

Andrew.

Uh what.. Hardly any lighter outlets are on with ignition is off.. Ever tried charging your phone while car is off :/ .. Won't happens, leave the gps on (turns off after a certain amount of time after ignition is off due to cig lighter off) magine all the blondes out there who don't turn the gps off.. And cig lighter stays on..no hope...

Also they do squat.. We're talking milliamperes..
