No, you still need to use your key to retract the steering lock and so the car can read the transponder in the key head. Disabling the steering lock and Immobiliser so you can use push to start will also void your insurance.

I have this mod in my 2008 Scion xB and love it! In conjunction with a keyless system from AdvancedKeys (Canadian company), this item works great! As Chris mentioned above, still need the key to be in the ignition to work. AdvancedKey shaved down one of my keys and used a cover that gives a "hidden" look to the ignition key. I use a small,credit card type card to enter/exit the car and for the vehicle to start. I highly recommend, though not the cheapest mod to have done unless you can do the install yourself.
