Hi

While inspecting V6 Camry for my purchase I noticed that there is soem kind of black deposit when I open the top engine oil cover. It was in all cars I inspected. Is that normal?

I had 2002 N16 pulsar before and when ever I opened the cap it was clean .

Because I saw same stuff on all cars I thought may be it is normal in this case. I don't know much about car. I have some basic knowledge only.

I think this is common across the 1mz-fe range. I have the same issue (assuming you're talking about under the oil filler cap) and when The Viking changed over my valve-cover seals (and had my covers cleaned in a centrifuge) he did not bring it up.

Yeah, I m talking about V6 2004 Camry and under the oil filler cap.

So no need to worry then.

Thanks

probably just some oil sludge... Most cars will have a little accumulated under the valve covers, probably nothing to worry about, but it might not hurt to shine a flashlight in the filler hole and see if you can see any more.
