I am very happy with the 10" sub and amp upgrade (even though it is still wearing in). There is enough power to get through all the layers of sound deadening.

The sound is clear with nice low notes not Doof Doof, so Jazz / rock / thrash all sound really nice. So if you want to know advice on i-pod to nice warm sound in your car with no disks messing up your car give me a hoy. :P

Hi Guys,

I was quite happy with the 2004 Sportivo sound system.. I only got the 4 speakers.. but was ok with stock speakers... 6 X 9 in the front and back....

Of course I had to install my own deck, so I got 4 X 50 watt Pioneed Head unit (powering the front and rear speakers), Changed the rear speakers to Sony Explode 6 X 9's, then got the RCA running to AMP in the boot, with 12" Pioneer Sub (sealed box)... sounds pretty damn decent...

I got a 4 channel amp sitting around, so when I decide to stop being lazy, will hook the front & back speakers off the amp (when I replace the fronts), and have the sub running off a seperate amp, so I dont kill that one!..

Thats about the only mod I've done!! :D

      2012 LC200, Want to rebuild the engine

      I have this 1VDF diesel, v8, 2012 model. I want to change the piston rings because there is excessive blow by gas in the crank case.. I have tried to look for a good piston rings which will fit the engine but Toyota has only STD , OverSize ring, I write to find out from members here if someone can recommend a good piston ring that is oversize and has resistance to wearing .. please message me here. Thanks

      Hi Ace front interior light

      OK, I had to remove this lens, come hell or high water. I started to pry it off, with a set of special hook pries, starting from the windscreen out. It came off, with a bit of reluctance. After it was off I saw that there are 4 tabs that hold it on, see picture. I didn't like what I found. The bulb was floating around loose, in the lens. There was a self tapper screw across one of the terminals, so off with the assembly. Whilst fiddling with it I created a spark (probably blew a fuse, somewhere) so now to find the battery. Again everything about looking after a battery, but no info on where it is located. Ultimately found a UTube video which shows where it is, underneath the sink cupboard, as this is a motor home conversion. Gave up for the day. Herb

      Hey just joined the Toyota Owners Club and still struggling to deal with it. Not the fact that I’m a member but that I’m now the proud owner of a 2005 Corolla 5 door Hatch. Can’t believe how much I want to pimp this new beast up. Having owned and driven mainly BMW’s for the past 20 years and spent a lot of time under the hood because that’s the joy of owning a German car to now spending time just looking at my dark blue Corolla and thinking of ways to personalise her/him/them. Maintenance will be far simpler for this little beast. My daughter currently drives it around after spending the first 4 months of being a new P plate driver driving my old 330Ci convertible with an in line 3 litre 6 cylinder to now buzzing around in a small but cute Japanese pocket rocket with 1.8 litres made up over 4 cylinders under the bonnet. Together we intend to source some big wheels, big rear spoiler, sexy large diameter exhaust tips, a dark window tint and maybe some sort of sound system that handles base. But first we intend to replace the rear bar cover as it’s damaged whilst the rest of the car is in very good condition both paint and panel wise. Maybe some reverse sensors while the bar cover is off. A new set of gas struts for the lift gate to stop it dropping and a new roof ariel which is broken can be done next week and maybe we can investigate how to retro fit some power windows because it’s a drag leaning over to wind down a window. We purchased this cute beast from a friend who bought it new back in 2005. A full service history , 165,000km on the clock, 11 months registration and a full tank of petrol. What more could you want for $3,000.

      All you do is push the button once. No foot on the brake either. This will activate accessory. Second push of button with no foot on the brake will activate reds.

      Hi Guys Just purchased an 08 Toyota Aurion Presara which has the push button start. I want to operate radio/cd when engine is turned off How is auxiliary achieved as obviously no key to put in auxiliary position. TIA.

      Hybrid car performance up hills

      Hi, I've driven a hire toyota hybrid just a few times and was impressed and fascinated so planning to get one from my new work car. Every day after my urban and sub urban driving, i drive 30 mins along a flat matorway then I have windy incline for 300m elevation weaving passed trucks into the mountains for 10 mins before I arrive home. I currently have a 150kw engine hatch that I feel safe and comfortable changing lanes and getting well positioned ascending up this part of the mountain The corolla cross hybrid I was looking at replacing my current work car gets up to about 140kwatts with the 2.0L and and electric engine combined which seems great. I was just wondering if i drive 30mins straight motorway on the flat 100lm/hr before the mountain, and there is no regeneration on the battery - how much the electrical engine would kick in and boost power me up the hill? I would want more than the 110kWatts from the sole 2.0L engine in the corolla cross to be safe and comfortable. I notice on the hire hybrids i drove - there was always plenty of charge that remained in the battery no matter how long and flat i drove, so I was wondering if this would be drawn on in high demands such as boosting acceleration? I haven't had the opportunity to drive a hybrid into the mountains to see yet so would appteciate others with knowledge and experience to let me know what they think.
