When to change timing belt and what other parts should be changed along with it

Hi

I recently purchased Camry 2004 V6 Sportivo .

It has done 136000kms. I came to know that it will need timing belt replacement around 150k. I am under the impresion that there are other parts also which should be replaced along with timing belt.

Which other parts needed to be replced and usually how much it cost to do all above?

Thanks

Timing Belt and the other belts while you are at it, the 3 front seals, Water pump and coolant as well. By this age your engine mounts are most likely worn out too

Thank for this info guys. I am a Newbie here.

My 2003 v6 Sportivo has done 242000km and the last timing belt change was sept 2008 at 161000km. They say timing belts on these cars last for 150k.

should i go by years or follow 150kms?

I am tempted to follow by years. What do you think guys?

I just had mine done. Power steering belt, water pump, thermostat, top and bottom radiator hose, Idler pulleys.

Thanks for the input guys.

I have been quoted $600 with the kit but no Water pump and if I get them to check the pulley and bearing and drive belts may cost more.

Also on another topic regarding oil Viscosity, I am going to use Valvoline 10w-40 but I think I need higher viscosity due the engine is 242000km old and the engine seals may not cope with any lower viscosity.

by the way guys I am a recent convert to Toyota from my little Astra.

10W-40 is fine, make sure everything gets replaced, it will work out cheaper in the long run. If something was to fail in 6 months, you would be up for the labour charges again.

I have done 142K now. While getiing my other car serviced I casually asked mechanic in Belconnen about what would be the cost to do 150K service of camry ?

He said it is 4.5hrs job and probably cost around $700.

2001 Camry V6 owner here. I replaced my timing belt 1.5 years ago. Got a kit from California on ebay delivered to my door for $240. Had 11 parts. 3 seals, belt, water pump, bearings, pulleys. I replaced all but the water pump. For me to do the WP would have required much more disassembly of the motor than I wanted to. The parts here would have cost >700, and I get trade prices at toyota. The kit I got had jap and US parts except the water pump. The ebay store was volkstoy motorsports.

When was your water pump replaced last?
