Hi

I have issues with unlocking my ae112 the key isn't working on the drivers door yet it can lock the car fine.

My remote also has stopped working a little while ago after the back fell off and I stopped using it to not lose the internals.

Biggest issue is while I climb through the passanger side to unlock the car my toddler can run away.

What is the best way to fix the lock.

How easy would it be to get an aftermarket remote programmed to my car.

The key not working on the drivers door could be a couple of things but most likely a worn key, if you get a new key cut to code, not just a copy of your worn key, this can help fix the problem, if the lock is too worn it would also need to be rekeyed. Key to code will cost you under $40 and the rekey should be around $80. also spray some WD40 in there to help break up the grease and crap that would be in the lock.

The remote, some of these can be repaired but new ones are always going to be the better choice.

I think that you should get the problems fixed instead of getting new remotes. I get a lot of customers that rely on their remotes so much that when they don't work they can't get into the car :)
