2011 rear bumper removal

2011kluger

Recommended Posts

As the title suggests, does anyone have a series of steps for the removal of the rear bumper for a 2011 kluger. I need to remove it to fit a factory towbar or can the towbar be fitted with the bumper on the car. Thanks in advance.

Change of plans. Instruction say remove, but only to attach new bottom skirt. It also states 45mins to do the job. Look's pretty easy, weekend job. You do need to trim 2 plastic cover plates before they can be refitted.

Just completed the fitting. No need to remove bumper, just the replacement section that comes with the new towbar kit. It's held by 2 white clips and about 8 plastic tabs. Once removed it's then easy to fit. Took me about 2 hours and that included the wiring. You will need the templates to cut the underneath cover plates.

Any special tools required for the removal of the clips?

No, just use your fingers, the bottom 2 are the best to get out first then unclip the top row. Have a look at the new section to go in and look at the clip design, this will help understand the removal of same. Just don't rip them out.
