Hi to all,

i´m Thomas from the Czech Republic. I´ve bought my Aurion 2 months ago. It is a UAE import fully loaded with all the extras, optional SatNav, moonroof, rear spoiler, etc.

Unfortunately at 104.000km the previous owner was struck by the the infamous "oil line damage" at 104.000km. The inevitable came, sudden oil press drop/oil leak and damaged engine.

I´ve bought the car from him with the damaged engine (was pretty cheap). Repair was not worth, as i found out later, crank and conrod bearings damaged, cylinder walls slightly "marked"..

Then i´ve found a second hand engine from a US import Toyota Sienna for sale.

Now, after 2 months i am already running, so far so good.

Some concerns i have:

-slight knocking from the engine when cold - from the rear head VVti area maybe?

-as an UAE import it has the external trans oil cooler, it seems to be cooling too much, as we have 2-3°C in the morning here. When i touch the cooler after driving for a while, it isn´t even hot at all. I am thinking of removing it.

-the engine temp gauge sits in the 1/4 of the scale, no matter how long i am driving (see pic.) - again as a UAE car, it appearst to have different thermostat. Is it possible?

- the annoying moonroof rattle, rattle from the dashboard right side speaker cover area..

Otherwise i am pretty happy with the car, my previous ride was a Lex GS400, but i wanted a newer/safer one with less km driven.

P.S.: The satnav radio (model 38002) will be for sale, if anyone is interested.
