UHF radios, advice please

I am wanting to do some fairly big trips in my Hilux ,so I want to get a und radio but I know nothing about them so if anyone can recommend a good one or advise on a brand to stay clear from it would be appreciated.

HI I have a Uniden UHO89NB that works fine may be a better question is antena you need some thing decent some are of poor quality and limited range

ask what gain you need the max or if it is just for the car you are following you may not

the radio has a limited distantance so the better the antenna the more range you have

I live and travel all over Broken hill Menidee Tibooburra way and use mine out there

Thanks feral, I hadn't thought about the aerial. I didn't realise they were as or more important than the radio.
