Has any one changed the o2 sensors in their Avalon? Does it have any effect on fuel consumption or performance?

I finally got around to changing the 2 oxygen sensors in the exhaust manifolds of my grande. The average fuel reading was up to 14.5 before changing and now reads 12.7 so that should result in a bit of fuel and money saved. The sensors have a life of around 100,000 ks and I think it is worth changing them. It is a simple job so shouldn't cost too much to do.I paid $75 dollars for the two and took about an hour to change them both.
