Hello.

My car might be a little old for these forums but I'd thought I'd ask. I've inherited a holden nova/corolla and am having a very weird problem with the horn.

If the wheels are straight, horn no work. If turn a couple of inches it works. I have a feeling this is a very common problem with these models and most likely an earth problem. I'm trying to avoid taking the steering g wheel apart.

Any help in what could be the issue would be great.

Sounds like it is the horn contacts inside the steering wheel - the wheel isn't hard to remove and pull apart, so I'd start there.

Thanks hori I've been reading around and what I've understood is that there's bolts holding down the air bag on each end and that will give me access after the air bag is removed. Of course with the battery disconnected.

Any thoughts?

Playing around with airbags can be tricky and dangerous if you don't know what you're doing. Get a copy of a Gregorys manual (I assume you've got an AE101/102 so you'll need #271) and go through the procedure for disabling the airbag and then removing the steering wheel, it's pretty simple when you have the instructions in front of you
