Performance/driveablity upgrades

Recommended Posts

Hi i have just got a Toyota Corolla 2007 Sedan E150 with the 2ZR-FE Motor...

looks for Mods that can be done to improve throttle response, power and cornering... and to try and get some fell in the steering....

Also it is a manual.. so a good start :)

Thinking cold air intake and aftermarket exhaust...

what can be done to fix the lag in the drive by wire?

Thanks in Advance... all advice is welcome and will be taken on...

Power = forced induction

Rear sway bar, front strut bar, coils = handling

iThrottle - to fix the lag (you dont have a drive by wire, its electronic, thats why its laggy)

cant do much with steering either - thats also electronic

read the FAQ for the intakes as some cause CEL

Drive-by-wire is the nickname for electronic (as opposed to cable) throttles :P Although really drive-by-wire covers throttle-by-wire, brake-by-wire and steer-by-wire (not electric-assisted), but throttle-by-wire is the only one that really exists on mainstream cars at the present.

ok... thinking more about it.... i think i am going to supercharge it rather then Turbo charge it.. my mate has a SC14 supercharger and i am going to see if i can fit it into the engine bay... if it fits i think it would be a better option..

still going to put in a intercooler and bigger injectors and a new ECU to make it all work correctly.. will up this thread with progress :)
