Cleaning you POD Filter

If you have a K&N Cleaning kit then you can simply follow the instrustions inside ;)

For those who dont have a cleaning kit or have used it and are running low on either part of the kit here is a generic guide to cleaning your pod filter.

1 - Remove the pod from the Intake (hopefully you put it there in the first place so i dont have to tell you how to do this!! )

2 - The preferred method is to use the supplied cleaning agent or a liquid detergent (washing-up liquid) and 'WARM' water to remove the dust/dirt. You can also clean the filter in a bath of petrol if nes.

3 - Massage the foam firmly in your hands whilst in the water, this will help remove dirt particles. UNDER NO CIRCUSTANCES SHOULD THE FILTER BE LEFT TO SOAK!!!!!!!!! (this is paramount for ITG filters as in water, time will break down the adhesives)

4 - Rinse the filter wil lots of clean water. Again massaging the filter to help get rid of all the soap.

5 - Allow the filter to air dry COMPLETELY. If you are in a rush you can shake the filter in a circular motion with your arm but BE CAREFUL that there is not too much water in the filter (esp. ITG) as the centrifical force can pull the adhesive apart.

6 - Oil the filter using either the K&N oil supplied, JDR-1 Dust Retention Oil (ITG) or Silkolene or other compatible product. Spray the oil giving a medium covering all over. The oil should have a dye in it either white, red or something else. Use this as an indicator as to how much you need to apply. You may also want to massage the oil into the ITG filter with your hands

REMEMBER - Follow the manufacturers 'instruction' for each specific application.

I am not held liable for any damage caused to your pod/cai, car, dog, mother, groceries as a result of reading this how to guide....it is a GUIDE only
