Hi everyone new to this forum, I recently bought a 2004 Corolla Wagon for my daily driver really like this car the only problem I notice it Revs to over 2000RPM when cold after driving and it warms up it goes to around 800RPM. Even when its warm seems to rev extremely high on startup. Is this the air control valve that needs cleaning any ideas would be helpful. Its an Auto the revs do drop a little after a few seconds to maybe 1800rpm the thing is where I live I cant just sit there waiting for the revs to drop as I start work early I don't like shifting it into gear when its idling high either. Ive read on the internet that intake manifold gaskets leak but this would make it rev high at all times is this correct? Thanks in advance

normal for most toyota vehicles to rev high on cold start

Mine does the same thing.

Sometimes I drive off straight away and drive slow for a few minutes until it warms up
