hey guys, got a problem that may be arising on my 2000 AE111 Corolla Levin BZR (from Japan). Hope this is the right forum because I see a whole lot of ZZE topics haha.

When I apply some decent amount of braking there is a knocking sound from the left rear (or front) wheel. It sounds as if it is coming from the underside of the car. I'm hoping this is a small issue to do with the brake pads wearing out but also facing the possibility of a wheel bearing problem.

The noise is a light knocking/thud. As if someone is tapping lightly on the boot lining (the stuff that hides the spare tire and stuff). It "taps" about 2 - 3 times, and 1 - 2 times after I left off the brakes (leading me to believe it isn't to do with the brakes itself but the suspension). The problem is replicated more consistently when braking up or down and incline.

Just wondering if anyone has any input/experience with an issue like this? Able to pin point this more. I'm taking the car to get the brakes/wheels/suspension checked over more thoroughly tomorrow/day after. Driving with brake troubles is a bit hairy!

oh yeah first post haha
