Hello The Internet!

I am fixing up a 2003 hilux (single cab) and am in need of new seats. However, I cannot find seats from that particular model to add to my car. Does anyone know if I can put a late model seat in an older model car?

Thanks!

Cause you can. Take a measurement . I once put seats out of a Datsun Stanza into a ute I had. Bloody seats were very similar to recaros, beaut raised side bolsters.

I just made some new brackets out of 3mm walled angle, high tensile bolts, from memory they only required new brackets on the rear as the front lined up perfectly.

Visit ya local wreckers, you will be surprised at what some of the Japanese cars actually come out with when you start looking, and if you get them out of two door you will also gain the tilt function to enable you to get behind the seats.

Chances are if you do find seats out of your model you are chasing they will probably be well past their use by date, made of vinyl, falling apart,

Best of luck mate
