The dashboard of my 2008 Aurion is melting. I have used a silver foil screen to protect the car in the sun, but now I can no longer use it because it sticks to the melted dash. I see that Toyota in the US are replacing the faulty melting dashboards. Is anyone else in Australia having this problem? I have already seen some on this forum, so I am assuming it is the case. It's very dangerous, and I believe that it is possible it might not pass a safety certificate since the glare reduces visibility significantly. When I am under street lights, on the motorway, or approached by cars with high beam, I can barely see at all and it is alarming. This then leads me to suspect that, should there be an accident, my comprehensive insurance would not pay out for it.
