Hello all,

Just a question really.

I drive 2 Hilux 4x4's, one is a 2011 SR manual diesel 80,000km's, the other is a new 2014 SR5 auto diesel 3,000km's. I've noticed that the SR5's diesel engine is a lot noisier than the older SR.

After a 500km trip yesterday the SR5 still sounded like it was cold, turned off the a/c etc, no difference.

By noise I mean the diesel "top end" rattle that is normal to a greater or lessor degree.

The SR is a lot quieter even when just started in the morning.

Is there a huge difference in the engines that accounts for this? Both drive fine no power issues etc.

AFAIR there'sbeen an issue about noisy injectors for some time. you'd better listen to some better informed than me on this.
