I recently went to a mechanic to get a new clutch for my AE93 RV seca. The mechanic offered to install either a ordinary clutch or a performance one, I told him I wanted him to install what ever would last longer. But before he install the clutch he told me that the RV was quite rare and was worth holding on to. My friends have recently been offering to redo the interior and respray the car (All I have to do is pay for the Paint and Fabric.) and I'm not sure whether to keep it original or start modifying it.

basically I want to know if its as rare has the guy was making out. If not I'll change the interior colour to a dark grey leather/vinyl, respray the car a darker shade of grey, add a lip and install some RS Watanabe rims and maybe install a turbo later on.

(By the way its a manual if that makes a difference.)

Rare isn't a word I would use to describe just about _any_ Corolla that was sold new in Australia. Uncommon maybe, rare no.

At the end of the day it's still less desirable (and worth less) than an SX in the same condition.

Just curious does the build plate say AE93? Because from my memory all RVs were AE96 (AE93s were generally all SX/GTi, but Toyota's naming structure went a bit silly with the AE9x series)

Okay just checked the VIN plate it says AE96 on the VIN but also AE93 so I think that's where I got confused.
