Hiya all,

As a relatively new owner of a Toyota Kluger I'd like to start a topic string around situations where owners may be caught out by unnecessary costs in maintenance and repairs.

The example I have to kick it off is our 2007 Kluger Grande needing the water pump replaced.

New water pump ~$250-300.

Two repairers without correct knowledge, said need to drop engine out to replace, and quoted it as a +$2500 job.

Toyota Service Centre here in Townsville can do it, engine in place, for mid $600 mark.

Would love to know of other situations where as per usual...best visit your Toyota Service Centre rather than general repairers.

thanx
