I purchased new a 2013 Rav 4 Diesel AWD, since, new it has used excessive amount of engine oil, no leaks. Engine rebuilt 50K then failed completely at 65K with broken timing chain. New engine provided under dealer warranty public liability insurance. New engine still uses excessive oil and using more and more as it ages. Now has 110K on clock but only 30K on new motor. This is the first time in fifty years of driving I have owned a new car that burns engine oil. Surely this is not considered normal for the modern new vehicle; engine oil disappears off end of Dip stick after 5K. I also believe the new 200 series Landcruiser has similar problem. How do I sure this problem without changing brand of vehicle. I have been loyal to Toyota since 1989.
