Guys,

I have installed the fog lights (aftermarket) in to my ATX 2007. I have connected the wire to the sockets that were installed my default.

Plus I have installed the fog button in cabin. All I need is to connect everything properly. I also have relay.

But when I looked under the steering wheel area I found very complicated to make it on my own.

This part definitely needs a good toyota pro electrician or some clever guy.

The problem is I can't go to toyota because of aftermarket lights. I am happy to pay cash for this job. Any of you have a good electrician in Sydney?

pls refer to the images I captured under steering wheel area

Well mate sounds like you're in a bit of a pickle.

I will start off with,

Have you had the car since new?

Is there anything installed on the vehicle that's not stock?

Posted (edited)

Hi,

I bought this car as used with 1 owner.

I have only aftermarket headlights installed but this is have nothing to do with the wires under steering whell as far as I know.

Also I have head unit (DVD/GPS) installed.

My point is when I removed the front bamper I saw factory sockets for the fog lights, then I found in this forum that this is the factory wiring and all I have to do is connect fog lights, install fog button in cabin and connect it to the wires under streeing wheel area.

The way to connect it is described in pdf wiring diagram for RAV4 I found in internet but when I opened the cover I saw that there are a lot of wires with no sign to connect it as I saw in that pdf.

I thought I rather get pro to connect it than do it by myself.

Ahh I see.

Well I would love to help you but I live in QLD 😔

I will do some research and get back to you on this one.

Are you able to email me that pdf with the instructions in it?

I want to compare it to the one I have and then go from there.

Is there any wires that are not connected or hanging by themselves?

Hi,

Thanx for helping me.

Here the link to view the PDF: http://www.toyota-tech.eu/aimuploads/%7BB1251A3E-5AB7-7489-25D5-AC4E011E5AB7%7D/Front%20fog%20lamp%20kit%20LHD%20RHD%20PZ457-X0511-00%20AIM%20000%20539-1.pdf

I have tried to find something similar for ATX but no luck.

Hey mate, sorry I've been realy busy and haven't had a chance to look into this for you, I have a couple hours spare now so I'll try having a look for you.nagain I apologise it's taken so long.

Ok so I'm currently looking at the wiring diagram for the Camry/Aurion.

The factory set up has a relay in the fuse box under the bonnet. Does yours have connections in the spot where the fog relay would live? You can tell because there will be metal connectors in the holes/sockets.

If you can't find the spot turn the lid upside down and it should show you.

If not then it has to be done a bit differently.

If it does we can just tap into a couple of cables/wires under the dash and maybe put in a fuse if it doesn't have one.

Hi,

thanx for coming back to me.

To answer to your question - Can I also have a look on that diagram you have for Aurion/Camry?

Perhaps I have it under the bonnet but my point here is to connect FOG lights with Switcher/button in car cabin.

Yes you may, I have to switch to my iPad for that I'll get back to you in regards to that.

I understand you want to hook it up to a switch in the dash.

I'll explain it a bit better, sorry I've been a bit all over the place lately.

Ok so if we use the factory wiring all we have to do is connect your switch to the factory wiring and put in a relay and it will work legally because there is already stuff there so all we have to do is tap into the control wiring and illumination wiring and it's done.

If the factory wiring is not there, we have to run cables into the the cabin, get control power and load power as well as the illumination and connect them all up so it works legally.

Does this make sense?

thanx, I assume if there are the factory wires under the front bumper installed So there should be all wires ready to be connected. As you said all we need is to tap into the control wiring and illumination wiring and it's done. But how to do this without proper hands I don't know. As you can see on the images attached above the thread it looks like a mess under dashboard.

That is tough for me to look at this diagram as I don't have such skills to understand all the wires.

My question How we are going to handle this? What steps I have to do to give you the right picture of all the wires and relay we need to connect all this stuff?

Ok so I'm still unsure if you have found out if you have the spot connected for the relay?

Please don't think I'm rude, I'm not trying to be, but going on what I can read here, you are not the best when it come to the electrical side. (This is fine not everybody is)

But this is going to make it difficult for us.

So I need to know if you have the connectors for the fog lamp relay in the fuse box under the bonnet be fore we go any further.

When you open the fuse box, there will be a diagram on the inside of the lid, if you can find the spot for the relay then have a look in the little slots for that relay spot, if it looks like there is metal connectors in there it's a good thing. If not we can get around it.

How you going with this?

I'm keen to do the same. Have already installed after market fogs, but saw the existing wires already there so trying to use them instead of running extra wires.

Hey mate, sorry I'm in the process of moving so I haven't had a chance to do much.

I think it it may need to go into the inside fuse box.

Had a look at mine and I couldn't find what I needed so I think it's inside, I'll have to pull my car apart and get back to you.

Sorry mate

Ok, thanx anyway.

Maybe U can advice me on some main points here?

Ok so it's a bit complex to hook it up to the factory settings if you don't k ow what you're doing.

So.. I would just suggest getting a driving light wiring harness and just going with that.

It's not factory but it will work.

With out being there, being in the wrong head space or having an atx I can't do much.

Sorry mate, was hoping we could solve this.
