I bought a 1992 Celica from off the roadside for $500 about 2 years ago with the intention that it would be a project for myself and my son. The paintwork has the usual '90's problem of severely cracked paint. We are currently cutting back to bare metal on the worst parts and are going to change the colour from the original burgundy to fluorescent orange (my son's favourite colour). I will try to keep a photo log of the progress.

Up until now I have only attempted work on older cars, specifically a 1972 Holden HQ SS and a 1965 Mini.

The intension is to start with the paintwork as we will see the greatest visual improvement here and I am worried that my son may lose interest if he can't see the progress. If that happens, I guess I shall just continue on my own. lol
