I have a 2008 Kluger and just recently I am getting an excessive number of beeps (10, in fact) when I go to unlock and open the drivers door or the front passenger door by holding the door handle. It's a smart entry system. This only happens when I grip the door handles to unlock the car. If I use the remote to unlock, all appears as normal.

It's only happened after my daughter borrowed the car, so I'm hoping it's just a setting she inadvertently changed.

If I recall correctly, there should only be two short beeps when the car doors are unlocked.

Any clues as to how to rectify the problem?

What did you find out? Mine is doing the same thing.

Nothing yet.....I rang the service department and described the problem. They suggested to try the other remote and/or change battery. All of which did nothing to solve the issue. The car is at the panel beaters at the moment. I'll take it in to get it looked at when I get the car back.
