Hi everyone, need some advice on what I can do to my '04 2.7 Hilux to make it more powerful and yet still fuel efficient. It seems that sometimes ive got to get into the 3000rpm range to get up an ordinary hill. The acceleration at traffic lights and starting up is pretty slow too. Is this typical of a 2.7 engine? This is my first car so ive got nothing to compare it with. I was thinking of converting to 6 gears, if thats possible, to increase my efficiency. And upgrading the engine so far. Even though my dads a mechanic I myself dont know too much about cars.

Needs some help. Anything is appreciated !
